- Brakes
We recently changed the front Cobra brakes
to four piston Wilwood race calipers with hear shields. The Cobra brakes worked
well but with the weight of the car and the speeds of some of the tracks we
experienced a durability problem. It would boil the fluid causing the brake
pedal to drop. We also installed larger rear rotors. The rotors are actually
the stock front rotors on the Mark VIII. The mounting brackets were designed
and installed by Tune Tech Motorsports in Indy.

- Air Intake
The intake tube that comes with the Vortech Supercharger is a little restrictive.
We started with a few 4" mandrel bends and a reduction adaptor from Anderson
Motorsports. A few hours later we had a free flowing 4" cold air intake with a
9" K&N air filter mounted in the lower fender.
- Intake Manifold
We installed the Victor intake in place of the Cobra intake to gain higher RPM.
- Fuel System
After having the Bird Dyno tuned at
Springfield Motorsports in D.C. and picking up over 100hp at the wheels , it
became clear that we had maximized the existing fuel system. With the added
horsepower the fuel pumps couldn't keep up above 5700 rpm. Tune Tech added a
second in tank fuel pump and second fuel line to fix this problem.
- Vortech Aftercooler
We have added a Vortech aftercooler to the supercharger for added power as well as cooling
during the event.
